Spring If Finally Here!

May 26, 2013
It took a while but it finally feels like Spring is here!!!  The aussies were so happy when there was finally no ice in the pond, they took full advantage right away.  They definitely enjoy their daily swims...rain or shine!

They have also been loving all of the rain that we have been getting...rain=lots of big mud puddles and they especially love the swampy area next to our field when there has been lots of rain.  They have the whole field to run and play on but what do they choose to do...play in the swamp!  There never seems to be a shortage of mud around here but they are very happy and love every minute of it, except for the part when we have to give them a bath!  They seem to be willing to pay that price, though, for their fun time in the water.

Taking The Plunge...Raw Feeding

April 22, 2013
Well, after much research and attending a seminar on Canine Nutrition we have decided to take the plunge and give raw feeding a try!  We have been doing this for about a month now, using raw food plus veggies, fruit and supplements and so far the dogs are loving it and doing very well on it.

For about a year now, Collin and I have changed our diets to eliminate processed foods as much as possible and although we get tons of cardio exercise with the dogs,we have joined a local gym that we atte...

It's so hard to believe that it is the last day of 2012!!!!  The year just seemed to fly by so quickly!

I'd like to take this opportunity to share our favorite memories of 2012:

Celebrating the first birthday of our first litter.  The whole litter (with the exception of Savita who celebrated with her second family in NB) were here and we had a wonderful birthday party for them.  They had so much fun with all of their guests and definitely enjoyed their birthday treats.  We look forward to doi...

A Great Loss

Ch Thornapple Aftershock

Diablo

Today was a very sad day for us here at Novacoast as well as for the whole aussie community.  We woke up to the news of Diablo's passing.  Even though we have never met this amazing boy he has touched our lives in so many ways and is the reason why we have our special Thornapple girl, Mylie.  He has definitely been a great inspiration to us and also to so many others around the world!  You don't have to know Diablo personally to know just how special he is, all ...

We Did It!!!!

November 13, 2012
When we had planned our first litter never did we dream that we would finish the whole litter!  Our first litter was a litter of 6 stunning puppies.
The first to earn their championship was Jury, Novacoast Burden Of Proof.  Jury finished his championship his first weekend out at 6 months and 1 day old!  He ended up with 4 best puppy group wins, a best puppy in show win and 2 group 2nd placements and 2 group 4th placements in a very competitive herding group!  Jury actually finished the year...

2011 - An amazing year!!!

December 24, 2011
Well, here it is almost the end of another year!   We couldn't be happier with what 2011 gave to us!  We had our very first litter which was an amazing experience!  We were advised by a good friend and reputable, longtime breeder to keep and show the entire litter!  We did however let one go and I am sure that Brittany would have been very disappointed if she wouldn't have gotten her special boy, Woobie.  We are very fortunate that we see Woobie almost every week so we get to watch him grow u...

December 30, 2010
It is hard to believe that 2010 is almost gone!!!   We have had an amazing year and feel very fortunate to have so many friends around the world supporting us along the way!!!  We were super excited to welcome Ruger to our family back in February, we will never be able to thank Ellen and Amy of Thornapple Aussies enough for allowing Ruger to come to Canada to live with us.  We have always loved Ruger ever since we saw his puppy pictures but never dreamed that he would someday join our family....
